“Music and passion is my motto. I believe that music has the ability to communicate, heal, and bring people together while passion is the fuel that we need to work on achieving our goals and dreams. Together they can create one of the most powerful forces on earth.” – Jonathan Cruz

Jonathan started piano at the age of 6. He studied at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Mexico and at Millikin University in the USA. He has performed in different types of events from wedding receptions to private events including playing for the former mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, and at the Genesee Theater for the Miss Waukegan pageant in Waukegan, IL.

Jonathan has been teaching piano lessons since 2009. He has experience working with children and adults. His teaching methods adapt to the student’s needs. Every student is different. He will find out the learning style the student has so you can be sure that the lesson time will be used in the most effective way. All music lessons include music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and techniques. If you are already proficient in playing the piano, you can also take music theory lessons only as well. Your learning is our number one priority and the main goal is that you become proficient playing the piano and achieve whatever goal you have in mind for your newly acquired skill; whether it is playing in front of audiences, writing your own piano piece, or playing piano for your own amusement, Jonathan will help you get there.
