How do I schedule an appointment to look at pianos?
Give us a quick call, or send a chat/email! We’ll ask you a few questions, and get you in as soon as possible:
1. What’s your name, number and email?
2. Which store would you like to visit and when?
3. What kind of piano are you looking for?
If you have questions about anything, please feel free to ask. If it’s your first time in, do check out our buying guides on our blog!
What pianos do you currently have in your showroom?
We get in new pianos on a weekly basis, and we post them all on our online store for your convenience.
We don’t publish pianos that we don’t stock or that haven’t arrived into our showroom.
So if you see one you think you might like, reach out to set a time to come play it for yourself!
How do I set an appointment to have my piano tuned or serviced?
As part of our Going Out of Business, we are no longer available for in-home tuning/service appointments.
That said, do feel free to email us at [email protected] if you’re interested in our team members’ services! Many of them will continue to tune pianos under new management.
Do you buy or take in used pianos?
We are no longer accepting any pianos on consignment or donation. There are limited exceptions for trade-in situations.

Do you offer music lessons?
Family Piano closed its School of Music in 2020. Since then, we have not offered music lessons ourselves.
If you’d like to sign up for music lessons in Waukegan IL, we recommend the Arize Beyond School of Music!
They’re open at 118 S Genesee St — the same space ours was in before, right next to our Waukegan store.
